    Police Blotter

    Attempted Entry--Nov. 12, 9 a.m. The front door to a residence on Echo Drive was partially forced open but was prevented from opening completely because of a chain on the door. A 49-year-old resident was sleeping 10 feet away from the door but didn't notice anyone trying to get in.

    Strange Patriot--Nov. 19. An unknown suspect smashed a window in a vehicle that was parked in a lot on E. Hamilton Avenue and wrote "USA" in the dust on the back window.

    Stolen Cars--Nov. 20, 3:35 a.m. Two 20-year-old men were booked into jail after stealing two sport utility vehicles from a car dealership in Los Gatos and then obtaining false license plates from cars on Whiteoaks Road. One of the suspects was stopped by police at Creekside Drive, and the other was pursued to San Jose International Airport. One of the suspects had misdemeanor warrants from Idaho.

    On The Run--Nov. 24, 12:44 a.m. Police stopped a 23-year-old transient near the intersection of San Tomas Aquino and Bucknall roads. The man ran from police, dropping his driver's license. Police later found him at a residence on Saratoga Avenue, but the suspect fled through the back door and escaped. He has two outstanding warrants, including one for $100,000.

    High-Speed Chase--Nov. 24, 6:50 a.m. A 19-year-old man led police on a chase from Campbell and Bascom avenues to Railway and Kennedy avenues, driving up to 80 mph on Railway. The suspect lost control of his car and crashed on the railroad tracks at Kennedy Avenue. He was booked into jail for driving under the influence.

    Passing On--Nov. 25, 5:25 p.m. A 44-year-old man was found deceased in his bathroom after a mail carrier reported that the resident's mail had not been picked up for several weeks. The case was sent to the coroner's office.

    Lost Liquor--Nov. 26. A 44-year-old Inskip Drive resident reported that someone entered her house through an unlocked back door and stole two bottles of vodka and a digital video camera.

    Sneaky Surveillance--Nov. 26, 7 a.m. A 55-year-old Fewtrell Drive resident reported that his 39-year-old neighbor set up two video cameras in his back yard to monitor the residence. The suspect was contacted and refused to take the cameras down.
