They've been whispered at slumber parties, shared around campfires and romanticized in novels for generations. But "ghost stories" hearken back much further than that. One of the earliest recorded tales comes from Pliny the Younger, a Roman historian who lived between 62 and 113 A.D. In Los Gatos and Saratoga, however, ghost stories and haunted houses are more than just obscure tales told in books--they're very real parts of local people's lives.
